It’s Time for Me to Shine

It's Time to Shine

As we celebrate freedom today, I am liberating myself. I created a new motto for myself. “The world is my stage and I’m going to give the best performance of my life.”

I decided to get off the BS and make my dream come true. I’ve always wanted to do a segment similar to Jay Leno’s “Jaywalking.” I had never done it. I actually wrote about it in my March post, “I Need to Be a Street Team Reporter.”  That was nearly  four months ago AND I think summer has finally arrived.

So, why haven’t I done it? I’m on some bull!  And I really don’t have a good reason NOT to have done it.

The quality of mini digital  cameras, voice recorders and camcorders – all of which can be found on smartphones – is sufficient to make decent media. And the easy integration of photos, videos and audio into your social networking sites makes it nearly impossible NOT to do it.  You know what’s bad?  I have a digital voice recorder, a digital camera and a smartphone.

So, again I ask: Why haven’t I done it?

All BS and excuses to the side. I’m going to start this week with interviews with bloggers at the Blogging While Brown Conference.  I am also going to conduct interviews with random people at different places in Los Angeles.  That will be the beginning of my street reporting career.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress. I’m so excited!! “I have one more quote that I’m holding tight to: I don’t need your permission to do me. I’m fine just the way I am.”

With that said, it’s time for me to shine!
