For all I’ve been doing the past few years to develop The Write Design Company (TWDC)and Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource, there is something I have not been doing, which is definitely more profitable: building the brand of Marcie.
People who know me know I’m a writer and blogger, which is cool. But the spirit of writing needs to ooze from every pore so when I make new connections, they can feel it. I know that sounds strange, but that’s how I feel.
Lately, I’ve been writing more for TWDC with most topics centering around blogging, live blogging and social media, but I haven’t written much about writing. And that’s what I need to do to build the brand of Marcie.
Here are some things I’m going to do to build my brand.
- Write more stories and articles about writing for online and print publications
- Write eBooks on writing
- Teach writing classes
- Continue to submit query letters to magazines – I’m still going for Chicago Magazine, Parade and Entrepreneur
- Interview writers
- Conduct writing workshops and seminars
As I see more things, I’ll be sure to add them to my offline list. But for now, I am working on the brand of me.
